This exhibition of 20 paintings represents the culmination of Atalanta Xanthe’s year as the inaugural Bell House Artist-in-Residence. Her paintings, inspired by medieval manuscript illumination and the lush Bell House garden, bring together humor, violence, sexuality, picnics and mermaids in a heady virtuosic melange.
Join us for an evening reception on Friday 18th, from 7 to 9 pm, or come by on Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th for additional artist walk-throughs of the exhibition, at 11am and 3pm on both days.
This exhibition also serves as a preview for the artist’s second solo show, ‘Age Gap, 1494-2024’, which will be opening at Alice Black gallery on October 31st.
