Would you like to have go at bookbinding?
This is a taster session suitable to anyone who can thread a needle and handle a craft knife! No experience required. All materials and equipment supplied.*
This taster session is designed to introduce you to a few basic skills that you can build on at future workshops and work on at home. At this workshop you will take home two case bound books (one single section and a multi section).
We will be holding these workshops in the Bell House Print Room and Bindery where we will be using materials and equipment kindly donated to us from Dulwich College and The London Library. Space is limited so book fast. These are probably the smallest book binding classes ever! ONLY 4 places available for lots of one to one focus time.
We will most definitely be needing a break so either bring along a sarnie or we can refuel on some biccies for half an hour.
*For any of you who will have done Simon’s letterpress workshop on the 6th of March please bring along the paper you have printed to use as covers and / or end papers PLUS you get a 10% discount on this workshop (claim your code through event@bellhouse.co.uk).
If time allows you will also be able to have a go at printing your own book plate on one of our vintage letterpress machines.
ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED – NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED.
The workshop will be run by the Creative Directors of the Print Room & Bindery - Simon Trewin and Tania Hurt-Newton
Tickets are £60 per person.
Suitable for over 16s only. Unfortunately this event is not suitable to anyone in a wheel chair due to basement access.
