Curious about what Bell House’s Artist-in-Residence does?
Join us from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, for a one-evening pop-up display of the ten oil paintings Atalanta has produced over the past six months, with a short lecture by the artist to be delivered at 7:30 pm. She’ll be discussing her influences, which include the Bell House Garden, collaborative making, the methodology of Large Language Learning Models like ChatGPT, and a recently discovered sketchbook by a 15th century monk. She’ll also be opening up her own sketchbooks, to show the full life cycle of a painting, from sketch gestation to completed work.
About the Artist:
Atalanta Xanthe is an internationally exhibited painter, represented by Alice Black gallery in London. Her background in painting at Oxford, Sculpture at the New York Academy of Art, and a decade of life-drawing practice have given her a wide-ranging technical skill-set she’s excited to share with the Bell House community in her role as a teacher and artist.
