Creative Arts Club (over 60s): Make your Own Egg Tempera Paint

Painting with egg tempera paint

Egg tempera paint has been widely used in the ancient world - West and East - from about the 1st century BC.  Whilst oil paint became very popular from C15th , egg tempera is still used by many artists today and has a quality that is truly unique. Easy to make and incredibly versatile, come along and find out how to to prepare and use this wonderful ancient medium.

All levels of experience are welcome - from beginners to more experienced artists, this workshop will be all about exploring the potential of egg tempera.  You will have a choice of working on a small panel as well as experimenting on paper.

Materials are all included but please do feel free to bring your own brushes. Images and reference materials will be provided, but do bring along any watercolour images that you love and would like to share and learn from, and/or images that might inspire your postcard.

Tea and coffee will be provided.
