Taster session - Throwing on the Wheel

Learn the basics of throwing on the wheel

  • This 2-hour workshop is for beginners who would like to have a first go at throwing on the wheel. 

  • You will try your hand at centering clay on the wheel and throwing a small cylinder.

  • At the end of the session, you can pick your favourite pot which will be glazed and fired for you. 

  • The cost of all materials and firing are included in your course fee.

  • These sessions are intended for adults. Separate classes are available for 11–18-year-olds. See here.

Tickets and dates

  • We offer bursary tickets (half price) to those who currently receive any of the following: Pension Credit, Universal Credit Disability Benefit, Income Support or Job Seekers allowance. Please email pottery@bellhouse.co.uk to get your half price voucher.

Age group: 

  • These courses are for adults. There are taster sessions available for 11–18-year-olds. See here

  • Nothing is currently available for children under 11.

Refunds: 

No refunds are available. However if you cannot attend a Taster Class for any reason: 

  • if you give us eight- or more- days’ notice we can either reschedule or send you a code to rebook for a different Taster Class.

  • If you give seven days’ notice or less, we cannot reschedule. There are no exceptions to this, so please do not ask or pressurise our staff.

  • In the latter scenario where you give seven days’ notice or less that you cannot attend, your booked place remains yours to give to a friend or family member to attend instead of you. In which case please let us know who is coming in your place.
